BURLINGTON ? A child in Alamance County has died from the flu, officials reported Thursday.

It is the first flu death in Alamance County, and the 28th in North Carolina for the 2013-14 season. The age and gender of the child were not released due to privacy laws, but the child is not an infant, said Dr. Kathleen Shapley-Quinn, medical director for the Alamance County Health Department...
