Los padres de un beb? de diez meses han denunciado por presunta negligencia m?dica al Hospital Materno Infantil despu?s de que la menor falleciera, pocas horas despu?s de que fuera devuelta a su casa desde este servicio de Urgencias el pasado jueves 29 de octubre.
Los padres mantienen que recibieron una llamada de la doctora que atendi? a la peque?a Sheila el s?bado durante el funeral para comunicarles que ?la prueba del moco que le efectuaron hab?a dado positivo de gripe A?. La Delegaci?n Provincial de Salud confirm? a su vez ayer a este peri?dico que la prueba efectuada a la menor hab?a dado positivo.
Todo comenz? el pasado 28 de octubre, cuando Sheila empez? a tener d?cimas de fiebre a media ma?ana. La madre, una joven de Albolote de 21 a?os de edad, Carolina Ribes S?nchez, le suministr? ?paracetamol? para frenar los 38? de fiebre que presentaba la peque?a.
El jueves 29, al d?a siguiente, manten?a la fiebre, y los padres decidieron llevarla sobre las 13.30 horas al centro de salud de Albolote, para que fuese vista por la pediatra. Ese d?a no hab?a ning?n facultativo que cubriera este servicio por la ma?ana, por la tarde s? se pas? consulta.
Ante esta situaci?n, Jose Cort?s Gonz?lez y Carolina Ribes S?nchez, los padres, decidieron acudir a las Urgencias del Hospital Materno Infantil. Cuando llegan, sobre las 14.00 horas, s?lo hay una mujer y su hija en la sala de espera, por lo que son atendidos de forma inmediata. La pediatra tumb? en la camilla a la ni?a y tras auscultarla, les dijo que le dieran paracetamol para la fiebre, ya que en ese momento ten?a unas d?cimas por encima de los 38? y tambi?n un medicamento para estimular la funci?n respiratoria y para expulsar la mucosidad, seg?n la versi?n de los padres.
?Nos dijo que la ni?a estaba bien, que ten?a la garganta un poco roja, y si empeoraba a las 24 horas la llev?ramos otra vez, pero que sus constantes vitales, respiraci?n y sistema locomotor, estaban bien?. La pediatra les conmin? a que se fueran a casa, pese a la insistencia de los padres al reiterarle que a la menor no le bajaba la fiebre, e informarle de que la peque?a sufr?a s?ndrome de West (epilepsia), de la que estaba trat?ndose.
Carolina, la madre, asegura que Sheila pas? la tarde ?sin moverse mucho, sin ganas de comer, pero como nos hab?a dicho la m?dica que estaba bien, esperamos seg?n sus indicaciones?.

Despu?s la subieron a la UCI, Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos, y no pudieron entubarla, seg?n aseguran los padres. Fue entonces cuando les comunicaron la muerte de Sheila. La peque?a ten?a un pulm?n totalmente blanco con neumon?a y otro da?ado, supuestamente por los intentos sin ?xito para entubarla. La misma doctora que les comunic? el tr?gico suceso certific? la muerte. Ya fallecida le hicieron una radiograf?a. La familia, tras velar a la menor, decidi? que le iban a practicar una autopsia, por lo que al d?a siguiente, el 30 de octubre a las 16.00 horas, se llevaron el cuerpo al Instituto Anat?mico Forense de Granada, previa presentaci?n de una denuncia contra el hospital.
