Stomach Illness Cuts Attendance at Campbell Elementary School

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- A Springfield school is awaiting test results to find out why so many students and staff have been sick.
Campbell Elementary at 506 South Grant Ave. had a 20 percent absentee rate last Friday, November 30. Many people complained of a stomach illness.

Mike Brothers with the Springfield-Greene County Health Department says there are no confirmed cases of norovirus at the school. As a precaution, the department delivered testing kits.
He says it will take at least a few days to get results back because they've been sent to Jefferson City for analysis.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The season for sniffling, sneezing, and stomach ailments is just now starting. From schools to workplaces,the flu bug is already making its rounds in the Ozarks.

Health officials are also keeping a close eye on the extremely cantagious norovirus....
This week, more than 10 person of the students at Campbell Elementary School in Springfield have been out sick. Many of the kids had stomach symptoms similar to the norovirus.
