Re: Mexico - WHO sees normal A/H1N1 outbreak in Mexico

Without any doubts the prevalence of an influenza A virus depends on hosts antibody protective level and many other factors, included weather.

So far, Mexico is the country most affected by A(H1N1)pdm09 virus in the world as seen in the GISRS real-time database: http://www.who.int/influenza/gisrs_laboratory/flunet/en/index.html

Country: Mexico
Specimens colelcted: ...
Specimens Processed: 243
Influenza A(H1N1) old seasonal: 0
Influenza A(H1N1)pdm09: 119
Influenza A(H3N2): 3
Influenza A(H5N1): 0
Influenza A not further subtyped: 3
Totale Influenza A viruses isolated: 125
Yamagata B: 0
Victoria B: 0
B untyped: 0
Totale Influenza B: 0
Total A+B: 125
ILI activity: Local Outbreak

It would be desiderable to know how the current circulating A(H1N1)pdm09 strain matches trivalent seasonal influenza vaccine. (IOH).
