Health officials warned that Mexico faces a risk 'very high' of a local outbreak of measles from Europe after the country was declared free of the virus for over a decade.
According to BBC World told the secretary (minister) of Health Jos? ?ngel C?rdova, the government will recommend vaccination of all those Mexicans at risk, and has already initiated a campaign to immunize all passengers flying abroad from the main airports in the country and wish to be vaccinated.
'Your transmission capacity (the virus) is 10 to 20 times more than the influenza virus, then there is a risk that we have not isolated cases, but some local outbreaks, "Cordova said in an interview with the BBC.
"The risk (of which there is a local outbreak in Mexico) is very high, and that have spread to other countries, including the U.S., no one is immune," he said.
