Mexico - 149 dead

Re: Mexico - 149 dead

It was just announced by the Health Secretary of Mexico.

It is confirmed, with a total of 770 cases still in the hospital.

Re: Mexico - 149 dead

I can't log onto the Mexico Health Dept site.

I would like to know if these are all confirmed swine flu deaths, or partial, presumptive, what??

The 103 number was actually 20 confirmed deaths plus ?? something to add up to 103.

No, all of those 149 deaths are NOT lab confirmed - in fact, I don't think most of them are.

BTW, CNN just had a report from Mexico City where they said that many staff members at one hospital came out and protested their working conditions. A physical therapist they interviewed told them that they are scared because they're seeing many people dying and they aren't being given what they need to protect their own health (ie: Tamiflu, which she said the doctors are taking for themselves, and masks - the therapist had bought her own).
