<!-- HEADLINES END --><!-- RELEASE BODY BEGINS -->OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 1, 2009) - The Public Health Agency of Canada is hosting a meeting to bring together national and international intensive care (ICU) specialists, public health officials, infection control practitioners, and other medical health experts to discuss the clinical care and management of severe H1N1 disease and to prepare for the anticipated fall pandemic wave.
While the conference is closed to media, there will be two media availability opportunities. Please arrive 30 minutes early to sign-in. Please report to the media registration desk on the first floor upon arrival.

Following the conclusion of opening remarks, the Minister and Dr. Butler-Jones will be joined by Dr. Danielle Grondin, Assistant Deputy Minister, Infectious Disease and Emergency Preparedness at the Public Health Agency of Canada, to provide an update on the H1N1 flu virus and answer questions from the media (both on-site and from the conference call).

Reporters planning to travel to Winnipeg for these events will be responsible for their own travel arrangements, including hotel reservations, and any associated costs. A room for use by media will be available. Public Health Agency of Canada representatives will be on site to provide assistance.
Accreditation:
All members of the media and associated personnel participating on-site must be accredited by the Public Health Agency of Canada on arrival.
Accreditation is reserved for members of the press - print, radio, TV, and news services. Freelancers must provide an assignment letter from an appropriate media outlet.
To obtain accreditation, present the following to PHAC personnel on-site:
a valid press card or media outlet ID
OR
a letter of assignment on company letterhead AND photo identification
