<!-- HEADLINES END --><!-- RELEASE BODY BEGINS -->VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Oct. 15, 2009) - On Friday, October 16, 2009 the Honourable Leona Aglukkaq, Federal Minister of Health, Dr. David Butler-Jones, Chief Public Health Officer for Canada, and Dr. Danielle Grondin, Assistant Deputy Minister, Infectious Disease and Emergency Preparedness at the Public Health Agency of Canada will be in Vancouver, British Columbia for the following activities:
9:30 a.m.: Tour of the H1N1 laboratory at the British Columbia Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC).
A media pool will be organized for the tour. Please arrive 15 minutes before the tour begins to sign in.
10:00 a.m.: Minister Aglukkaq, Dr. David-Butler-Jones and Dr. Danielle Grondin will provide a national update on the H1N1 flu virus.
Following their update, Dr. Perry Kendall, Provincial Health Officer for British Columbia, will comment on H1N1 flu virus activity and preparations in the province.
