Mecca hospitals treat 70,000 emergency cases

More than 70,000 emergency cases have been admitted to the three hospitals near the Grand Mosque in Mecca during the first 20 days of Ramadan, the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said on Sunday.
The hospitals received a total of 72,606 emergency cases, out of which 3,810 were hospitalised ?for various symptoms and diseases?, SPA said.
The hospitals also treated 3,790 outpatients, SPA added.
The news agency did not say how many of the cases were related to swine flu.
Saudi Arabia.has recorded 26 fatalities from swine flu, out of around 3,500 people who have contracted the virus, the Health Ministry said last week.
Just over 450 of those cases were recorded in Mecca and Medina, the ministry said.
