Suspected and Locally Confirmed H5N1 Cases - Bali and Lombok, Indonesia

Within the past several days, a number of individuals from the islands of Bali and Lombok have been reported as suspected or locally confirmed bird flu (H5N1) cases.

Bali -

A. A mother has been hospitalized in Bali with symptoms of bird flu. Two of her children, a son and daughter, died on October 10th and 11th from bird flu (locally confirmed) (link)

B. Several individuals and IKE (7) from Desa Kusamba, Kecamatan Dawan, Kabupaten Klungkung (link)

Lombok -

C. Muhammad Aditya {MA} (11 months) from Kelurahan Semayan, Kecamatan Praya, Kabupaten Lombok Tengah

D. Inaq Sahnun {IS} (53) from Desa Pringgarata, kecamatan Pringgarata, Lombok Tengah

The map in the post above has been updated to reflect the recent suspected and locally confirmed H5N1 cases from Bali and Lombok. The total for the last 7+ days is now at least 6 individuals.
