Preschool classes cancelled for 4 days due to pandemic fever

Principals note that some students who have not recovered from fever being brought to school
MALE, June 5 (HNS) ? Classes at all the preschools in Male, except for Madharasathul Aaliyaa, have been cancelled for four days starting Monday due to the widespread outbreak of a viral fever and dengue fever.
Galolhu Madharusaa, Madhrasathul Ahmadhiyya, Maafannu Madharusaa, Madhrasathul Ameer Ahmed and Madhrasathul Falaah preschools said that only a few students had been able to come to school because of the fever. Some schools have also noted that some of the teachers are had also contacted the fever.
An official of Galolhu Madharusaa said that some 270 students did not come to school on Sunday.
?About 115 UKG students did not come to school. From LKG about 155 students did not come. In the last two weeks the number of absentees has been on the rise,? the official said.
The preschools said that new cases of fever were being reported at an alarming rate. Statistics from Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) has shown that during the past 30 days more than 25,000 people have come to the hospital for treatment after coming down with the fever.
