Toddler succumbs to dengue fever

A toddler has succumbed to dengue fever while undergoing treatment on Wednesday.

The 7-month-old child passed away at about 12:30 p.m. while undergoing treatment at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).

The incident came two days after the death of a 37-year-old woman from GDh. Faresmaathoda, who was also seeking treatment for dengue fever. However, the health ministry said that it is still not confirmed on whether the ailment contributed to her death or not.

As of last Thursday, 464 dengue cases have been reported so far this year - a figure that was high in comparison to the number of cases reported in the previous years.

61-year-old who passed away on Sunday died due to dengue fever: IGMH

Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) has confirmed that the 61-year-old who died on Sunday died due to dengue fever.

She died around 7.30 p.m. on Sunday while receiving treatment for dengue fever at the only government-run hospital in capital city Male?.
