Bhopal doctor dies of Swine Flu

Bhopal, Apr 15:
A doctor from the city was reported to have died of Swine Flu on Thursday. A Delhi-based private pathology confirmed that he was suffering from Swine Flu.
Dr Mukesh Soni, resident of Kotra, was admitted to Akshay Hospital on April 11. Doctors suspected him to be suffering from Swine Flu and recommended him to JP Hospital for confirmatory tests.

Dr Mukesh Soni, who worked as a Medical Officer at Ashoka Garden situated Gas Relief Dispensary, breathed his last at 7:00 pm on Thursday.

Woman diagnosed with swine flu in Bhopal

Bhopal, April 21 (IANS) A woman whose husband died of swine flu here last week was Thursday diagnosed with the same infection, officials said.

"Rupal Soni has been diagnosed with swine flu, but she is out of danger," Chief Medical and Health Officer Pankaj Shukla told IANS.

Rupal's husband, Dr. Mukesh Soni, had succumbed to swine flu April 14.

"We had sent twenty-five samples for investigations, but only Rupal's sample tested positive. We hope there would be no more such cases," Shukla said.

He added that all health officials across Madhya Pradesh have been instructed to take precautionary measures against swine flu.

17-yr-old tests positive for swine flu

A 17-year-old student has tested positive for swine flu in this district, health officials said today. Deepak Mishra (17) -- who was suffering from fever -- was admitted to the District Hospital by his father. Chief Medical and Health Officer Santosh Shukla said a team of the Health Department has examined the health of all the students of his class. Rampur village-resident Dharmendra Thakur (17) was tested positive to swine flu yesterday and, the total number of students affected has gone up to two.
