BOSTON (myfoxboston) - The Massachusetts Department of Public Health says it has not identified any cases of swine flu in the state, but is increasing its surveillance for possible cases.

There have been confirmed cases in California, Texas, Kansas and possibly New York City.

Mass. officials are holding a press conference on Sunday at 10 a.m.

Swine flu is a respiratory infection caused by the influenza type A viruses that usually caused influenza in pigs.

People do not usually get swine flu unless they are in contact with pigs. But person-to-person contact is suspected in recent case in the U.S.
