The Ministry of Agriculture, Viticulture and Rural Development announced the discovery of the H5N1 virus in a press release on Monday.

Three new cases of avian influenza detected
REMERSCHEN - Three additional cases of avian influenza (virus type H5N1) have been confirmed in wild geese. Three others had already been registered this year.

Three additional cases of avian flu (virus type H5N1) have been confirmed in wild geese in Remerschen, the Ministry of Agriculture said on Monday in a press release. As a reminder, a case had already been discovered on September 6 in Olingen, then two others at the end of November in Remich and Wintrange.

In order to prevent the introduction of the virus into poultry flocks, the measures put in place at the end of November are maintained until further notice throughout the territory of Luxembourg, add the authorities. Feeding and watering must, for example, take place in premises which are not accessible to wild birds. In addition, poultry must be kept in closed rooms. "Depending on the evolution of the disease, the measurements will be updated," adds the ministry...
