Luang Namtha Province Learn On Bird Flu Control

VIENTIANE, April 20 (Bernama) -- The information on bird flu prevention in brochures and posters are good advertisement, which has helped to make the villagers and students in Thongjai-neua village, Luang Namtha district and Luang Namtha province, understand more about the bird flu prevention, Lao news agency (KPL) reported.
The team of Medical Information and Sanitation Centre, Ministry of Public Health in cooperation with the Mass Media Department, Ministry of Information and Culture, which was supported by UNICEF, had worked since early this month to disseminate the information about bird flu in Luang Namtha province.
To ensure the understanding of bird flu, the public health sector of Luang Namtha province has also focussed on monitoring and disseminating information of the danger of bird flu to people.
The decree of the Prime Minister, and Minister of Public Health, on the bird flu prevention was also educated to the local people in various areas.
The Luang Namtha province has also established a committee to monitor the poultry import and organised a number of seminar and training course on bird flu control.
Today, no new case on bird flu outbreak reported in Luang Nantha province and the more than 100,000 eggs produced in Luang Namtha province has already allowed to be sold at the market in Vientiane Capital.
