Health officials confirm 3 new cases of West Nile in LA

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals confirmed three new human cases of West Nile Virus, bringing this year's total to 12.
The three new cases are all from East Baton Rouge Parish, which leads the state with seven of the 12 cases.
Health officials characterize West Nile infections three ways: neuroinvasive, West Nile fever and asymptomatic.
Two of the new cases were neuroinvasive disease and the third was West Nile fever.
