North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) has declared a major incident due to high demand.
We've declared a major incident due to the high level of calls. For enquiries relating to this incident, please follow us here/our Facebook page.
If your call is not life-threatening, you may be asked to seek an alternative source of care or make your way to hospital.

NWAS Unison added: "Major Incident Declared by NWAS. We have agreed to suspend the Meal Break Policy in line with the agreement that we have with the Trust between 5pm and 7pm. If you have any problems please speak to EOC."
20:14 .. The number of 999 calls NWAS is currently dealing with
Official sources say the number of 999 calls has risen to 500.
NWAS bosses say it isn't clear what had caused the surge.
They don't believe tonight's spike in demand is linked to coronavirus.
19:28 .. "Some crews are not be allowed into hospitals"
Union bosses say some ambulances crews are not being allowed into hospitals due to coronavirus.
Jeff Gorman, NWAS Unison branch secretary, added: "A lot of crews are being delayed significantly at hospitals for a long time because emergency department are not allowing them inside.
"That's a worry for them if they have a Covid patient because they're having to wait inside an ambulance with them."

NWAS Unison branch secretary Jeff Gorman said crews have never dealt with a situation like this before.
"We are obviously entering into winter pressures which is always a really busy time of year," said.
"Things are much worse at the moment because of Covid and the impact it has had on resources.

PARIS (Reuters) - France’s reported a record 52,518 new COVID-19 on Monday and the number of people hospitalised with the disease rose by more than a 1,000 for the fourth time in eight days, as the pandemic showing no signs of abating despite a new lockdown.
