Liberia: 10 Suspected Ebola Victims Cleared

Doctors at the ELWA Hospital have disclosed that ten persons who contracted the Ebola virus have been discharged after days of treatment at the ELWA quarantined center. Disclosing this on Tuesday when President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf visited the ELWA Hospital and other health centers in Monrovia and its environs, the Medical Director at the ELWA Hospital, Dr. Jerry F. Brown, said some of the Ebola victims at the quarantined center are responding to treatment while others' condition continue to deteriorate.
Dr. Brown said they have discharged ten persons after being negative of Ebola and that the ten persons have been sent home to their families as they no longer show any sign of the virus. Dr. Brown stated further that six other persons who suffered the Ebola virus have been tested negative following treatment at the quarantined camp and will also be discharged.
He said the ten persons being discharged following their response to treatment were part of 60 persons who were recently quarantined on the compound of the hospital and that some of those discharged include doctors and nurses.
Dr. Brown appealed to government for the expansion of the quarantined centers as there are lots of affected persons pouring into the present camp as a result of the awareness campaign being launched in recent times against the virus. He said due to the influx of victims, there is now a capacity problem...
