OGDEN -- The weekend before Christmas, Kerry Collett was showing off her stained glass art work at the Gateway Mall in Salt Lake City. Four days later she was fighting for her life.
Collett, 54, of Layton became sick with influenza type H1N1 and her health began deteriorating rapidly.
"We took her to the doctor on the Monday before Christmas and he said she probably had the flu. He gave her some medicine and told us to keep an eye on it," said Collett's husband, Charles. "She just kept getting sicker and sicker and then her breathing became very labored. I took her back to Instacare and her blood saturation was at 57. They like to see it above 80."
