Kolkata, November 1: The death of a nine-year-old boy sparked sensation last night. Although Saibal Chakraborty, the deceased and a resident of Beniapukur Lane, was declared dead after being afflicted with dengue in his death certificate, his father accused the hospital authorities for his son?s death.

Chakraborty had been admitted to the Institute of Child Health Hospital at Park Circus on October 19. A student of class III in Modern High School, his blood report showed that he has ?dengue IgM intermediate? which, his father argues, is by no means fatal.
?The blood test was done at Roy and Trivedi and we have no reason to question the report?s authenticity,? said the deceased?s father. It was a shock for Saibal?s parents when the death certificate issued by the hospital said that the boy died owing to ?dengue with haemorrhagic fever?. Alleging foul play, the parents blamed doctors and other hospital authorities for being negligent in their duty.
