​ASTANA. KAZINFORM 3,037 measles cases were confirmed in Kazakhstan, Kazinform reports.

The most cases of 1,101 were recorded in Almaty followed by 430 in Zhambyl region, 352 in Almaty region, 237 in Atyrau region, 209 in Astana and 194 in Shymkent, Vice Minister of Healthcare of Kazakhstan Aizhan Yesmaganbetova told a briefing.​..

Over 1,500 measles cases confirmed in Almaty​


1,522 laboratory-confirmed measles cases were recorded in Almaty since March this year. Of which 1, 292 cases were detected in children under 14 years old, Kazinform reports.

Tally of measles cases passes 11,000 in Kazakhstan

​AKIPRESS.COM - Kazakhstan has registered 11,057 measles cases since start of 2023, Vice Minister of Health and Chief State Sanitary Doctor Aizhan Esmagambetova said.

83% of cases are registered among children under 14 years of age. 2.7% cases were registered among adolescents, 13.8% in adults.

Measls cases are registered in all regions of Kazakhstan. A high incidence level is reported in Almaty and Shymkent - more than 2,000 in Zhambyl and Almaty regions - more than 1,000 cases.

Cases are registered among unvaccinated children.

Children under 5 years old account for more than 65% of measles cases...

Measles cases rising in Zhetysu region​


The epidemiological situation for measles remains unstable in Zhetysu region with 229 cases confirmed out of 317 registered ones, according to the region’s chief sanitary doctor Askhat Charapiyev, Kazinform News Agency reports.

The chief sanitary doctor says most cases were detected among unvaccinated groups.​..

Incidence of measles cases in Kazakhstan exceeds 20,000 - Ministry of Health

​AKIPRESS.COM - The number of measles cases in Kazakhstan has exceeded 20,000. 81% of all cases are among children aged under 14, said Chair of the Board of the National Center for Public Health of the Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan Manar Smagul, Vlast.kz reports.

20,188 cases of measles have been registered across the republic since the beginning of 2023. 16,351 cases, or 81%, are among children aged under 14. 706 cases (3.4%) were registered among adolescents. 3,131 cases (15.4%) were registered among the adults, according to the Chair.

The highest incidence, or 3,069 cases, is recorded in Shymkent city, 3,010 in Almaty, 1,812 in Almaty region, 2,724 in Zhambyl region, 1,701 in Mangistau region, 1,377 in Atyrau region, 1,485 in Aktobe region and 1,182 in Kyzylorda region.

About 350 cases of measles are registered in the country every day.

"The share of unvaccinated children among the infected is 83.6%, e.g. 13,670 cases," Smagul added.​..

Measles cases spike in Kostanay region

Over 20 measles cases were recorded in Kostanay in early December against 32 registered in November, Kazinform News Agency reports.

The number of measles climbed to 145 so far.

Most cases of 56.5% (82 cases) were detected in people who have never been vaccinated against measles. 64.1% or 93 cases were recorded in children below 14 years old...​

Kazakhstan among Top 3 countries with measles outbreaks

Kazakhstan stands among Top 3 countries with the highest number of measles cases, according to the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Kazinform News Agency reports.

According to the statistics, Yemen is ranked first with 25,216 cases confirmed. India comes second with 14,927 cases, and Kazakhstan is third with 12,985 cases.​..
