Doctors in Wichita are treating an unusual respiratory virus that's putting some kids in the hospital...
...Here's what parents need to know: The virus will have many of the same symptoms as a cold, but you need to see your doctor if your child has a fever that won't respond to Motrin or Tylenol or if your child is having trouble breathing.
Children are responding to hospital treatment--which includes giving asthma medicine even if they don't have asthma.

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- The Topeka area is seeing a surge in respiratory illness in children.
Topeka's Stormont-Vail Health Care said it tested 98 people in the month of August for Rhino Virus and Entero Virus. Forty-eight came back positive and of those 35 were in children.
All of the kids were admitted - most of them to the pediatric unit, but some needed to be seen in pediatric intensive care and neonatal intensive care units...
The hospital's infectious disease specialist said EV-D68 was not associated with his case or their 2 other AFM cases. This is the hospital that first recognized the EV-D68 respiratory disease outbreak. She said that the paralysis cases remain a medical mystery they are investigating.
