JAPAN OFFERS helping Egypt to control the bird flu ..
The Japanese ambassador in Cairo, Kawora Hikawa, expressed his country's willingness to assist Egypt for the control of avian influenza virus, through cooperation with the ?UNICEF?.
The Hikawa - During his visit, accompanied by Dr. Fathi Saad, Governor of Giza, the village Tmoh Aboualnmrs status - to stop the advance of this disease is possible if concerted efforts of all governmental and non-governmental organizations, in order to increase awareness among mothers and children against the disease.
For his part, Governor of Giza: This visit is aimed to increase awareness among the citizens, to avoid the effects of avian influenza, in collaboration with UNICEF and the Ministry of Health and Population, with the support of the Japanese government, pointing out that the visit comes within the many programmes to control the disease, and then disposed of final.
He added Saad: that the program aims to increase awareness among the citizens, especially in rural areas, which increase the proportion of breeding bird houses, and therefore can be exposed to infection educators, especially women and children, if not get to know the methods confront disease and behaviour to be met and prevention methods .
He stressed that there is great response from the citizens of awareness programmes, pointing out that the latest statistics were about how to respond to the awareness programmes, indicated that 82% of the citizens have adequate information about the disease and its symptoms.
Said Dr. Mustafa Windsor, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Giza, the program aims to many otherwise Giza governorates, where rural leaders have been trained on the programme, and the mobilization of the community, such as NGOs, and intensify efforts especially rural, stressing that the main objective is to change the erroneous practices in citizens , in particular the mixing of children and women birds, in addition to the reduction of the purchase birds from unsafe sources.

وأشار شيكاوا - خلال زيارته بصحبة الدكتور فتحي سعد، محافظ الجيزة، لقرية طموة بمركز أبوالنمرس - إلي أن وقف زحف هذا المرض ممكن إذا تضافرت جميع الجهود الحكومية وغير الحكومية، من أجل زيادة التوعية الخاصة لدي الأمهات والأطفال لمكافحة المرض.

من جانبه قال محافظ الجيزة: هذه الزيارة تهدف إلي زيادة التوعية لدي المواطنين، لتجنب آثار أنفلونزا الطيور، وذلك بالتعاون مع منظمة اليونيسيف ووزارة الصحة والسكان، وبدعم من الحكومة اليابانية، لافتاً إلي أن الزيارة تأتي ضمن العديد من البرامج للسيطرة علي المرض، ثم التخلص منه نهائياً.

وأضاف سعد: إن البرنامج يهدف إلي زيادة التوعية لدي المواطنين، خاصة في المناطق الريفية، التي تزيد فيها نسبة تربية الطيور بالمنازل، وبالتالي من الممكن أن يتعرض المربون للإصابة، خاصة السيدات والأطفال، إذا لم يتعرفوا علي أساليب مواجهة المرض والسلوكيات الواجب توافرها وأساليب الوقاية منه.

وأكد أن هناك استجابة كبيرة من المواطنين لبرامج التوعية، لافتاً إلي أن آخر إحصائية تمت حول مدي الاستجابة لبرامج التوعية، أوضحت أن ٨٢% من المواطنين لديهم معلومات وافية عن المرض وأعراضه.

وقال الدكتور مصطفي المراغي، وكيل وزارة الصحة بالجيزة، إن البرنامج يستهدف العديد من المحافظات بخلاف الجيزة، حيث تم تدريب الرائدات الريفيات علي البرنامج، وتعبئة المجتمع المحلي، مثل الجمعيات الأهلية، وتكثيف الجهود خاصة بالريف، مؤكداً أن الهدف الرئيسي هو تغيير الممارسات الخاطئة لدي المواطنين، خاصة اختلاط الأطفال والنساء بالطيور، بالإضافة إلي الحد من شراء الطيور من مصادر غير آمنة.
