Abstract

This letter addresses the potential rationales of mRNA COVID-19 vaccine-induced myopericarditis based on results from previous studies. We propose that reviewing the dosage of the vaccine used in children and adolescents might be beneficial. Additionally, a recent animal study has shown that inadvertent intravenous injection could induce myopericarditis. It was suspected that the development of myopericarditis after the vaccination could be due to injection techniques, such as aspirating before the injection. Thus, alteration of the injection site to vastus lateralis, or improving the injection technique might reduce the risk of developing post-vaccine myopericarditis.
