TREVISO PROVINCE, NORTHERN ITALY. According a local newspaper ''il mattino di Padova'' (reprised by National 1st TV Channel), a resident of a small town near Treviso, Veneto Region, is currently hospitalized in critical condition after inhalation of phosgene-like gas when he attempted to defuse a WWI legacy warhead hidden in his house's garden.
More than 100 people who resided in the same apartment block were evacuated to avoid possible further contamination.
An equipped fire brigade cordoned off the area and put in safe the warhead.
The man, a 33 years-old resident of Arcade town, is under arrest at hospital.
He tried to defuse the warhead into his garage room with the help of a drill.
The area of the incident was the theatre of fierce battles during WWI and the soil is filled by these dangerous equipments. IOH.
