San Martino seems to be the name of the hospital in Genova
San Martino, pneumonia alarm
December 8, 2010
A peak of hospitalizations for pneumonia as you is not seen last year at maximum spread of "H1N1", last year.
Twelve patients hospitalized in the last two days, the emergency room of St. Martin, they did sound the red alert of the surveillance system that monitors cases of influenza and respiratory diseases. But what happened? Not even doctors can answer, at least for the moment. "Twelve are many cases in 48 hours."
From patients admitted to the emergency room, about twenty have been isolated from bacteria.
"The results should arrive Thursday, and then we can understand something more," says Filippo Ansaldi, university lecturer and hygienist at the San Martino, and head of its laboratory analysis of cases of influenza and pneumonia.
In recent days, even to the Gaslini there was a boom of cases as confirmed by the health department.
