TWO men and two women have died from flu this year, two of them within the past three weeks.
Altogether 313 people have been hospitalised; of these, 20 adults and 32 children had to be admitted to intensive care.
A further 32 children had to be treated in intensive care because of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), which causes infection of the lungs and breathing passages.
Beaumont Hospital, one of the biggest in the country, is still imposing visiting restrictions in a bid to curb an outbreak of flu at the hospital.
The continuing restrictions are against the backdrop of 187 cases of flu recorded at the hospital since the outbreak began in mid-February...
