Iraq reports one more A/H1N1 flu death

KIRKUK, Iraq, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) -- A man in northern Iraqi city of Kirkuk died due to the A/H1N1 flu virus, a medical source in the city said on Sunday.
"A man in his thirties died of A/H1N1 flu at the main hospital of al-Hawija town, some 70 km southwest of Kirkuk," Dr. Siddeeq Omar Rasoul, head assistant of Kirkuk Health Office told Xinhua on Sunday.
The man who was the first killed by the deadly disease in Kirkuk had been treated at an isolated room exclusively for A/H1N1patients in the hospital but the doctors failed to save his life, Rasoul said.
The latest death brings the number of Iraqis who have been claimed by the A/H1N1 flu disease across the country to 13.
In October, Ihsan Jaafar, director general of the public health department in Iraqi Ministry of Health, told reporters that his ministry registered a total of 472 cases of A/H1N1 virus in the violence-ravaged country.
