Director General of the Department of Public Health in the Ministry of Health, Dr. Mohammed Ihsan Jaafar for the registration of first case of swine flu in the Sulaymaniyah province of Kurdistan. He explained that 'This injury is the first province of Kurdistan since the beginning of the year'. Jaafar said that 'the number of casualties in the Iraqi provinces, and reached so far to 104 injured, mainly in Baghdad, Basra and recovered the 95 injured'.

He added that 'the province of Babylon, recorded nine cases of the virus but did not we receive so far no case of death', noting that 'the province of Diwaniyah recorded five cases of the epidemic, and died of infection and one with four others similar to heal'.
He continued by saying that 'the Baghdad province recorded 54 cases of infection by the epidemic and died of a single person, while still others are undergoing treatment, as well Basra has recorded 24 goals so far died, including four injuries and still others are recovering'.
He pointed out that 'there are minor injuries were recorded in Diyala province, is injured and one has converged to heal and added Jaafar that the swine flu affects the respiratory system, and the common type which is called the (H1N1), and the new virus developed for this type, which is, which is transmitted to humans .
