The head of Iran’s zoonotic diseases control group announced 3 people have died of Crimean Congo Haemorrhagic Fever in the country. Behzad Amiri added that Iran has so far logged 45 CCHF cases.

Amiri said zoonotic diseases are infectious and that 200 types of them have been detected in the world...

Iran records 51 cases of Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever, 3 deaths

An official with the Iranian Health Ministry says the number of individuals diagnosed with the Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) has increased to 51 in more than three months, and three people have lost their lives to the disease.

Behzad Amiri, who heads the ministry’s Department for Management of Diseases Transmissible between Humans and Animals, said the numbers had been recorded since the start of the Persian calendar year on March 20, 2022.

The CCHF virus is typically spread by tick bites or close contact with the blood, secretions, organs or other bodily fluids of infected persons or animals...
