International Conference: Avian influenza vaccine does not cover 64% of the education of rural poultry in Egypt

Revealed an international workshop, organized by FAO in collaboration with the General Authority for Veterinary Services in Cairo, yesterday, that the veterinary vaccines ?cover only 36%? of the total birds in the rural education of the 300 million birds, which means that 64% of birds do not get these vaccines.
The participants in the workshop, held under the title of ?evaluation of the national campaign to fight bird flu?, the necessity of activating the role of the General Authority for Veterinary Services and the provision of the material and human resources to control the disease, pointing out that the veterinary services as the most important regulatory bodies associated with veterinary epidemiological ?not enough? to cover only 10% of the production of sending into exile, in addition to the severe shortage in the detection of animal diseases and other massacres of animals.
In return, Dr. Hamed Samaha, Chairman of the General Authority for Veterinary Services, has been the production of 100% Egyptian vaccine for use in the fight against bird flu, adding that Amin Abaza, Minister of Agriculture, made a presentation to the Council of Ministers of the reassignment of veterinary graduates to work directorates in the governorates of Veterinary Medicine to control bird flu.
The chairman disclosed that only 2% of poultry farms, bio-safety rules are applied in the farms.
