A 54-year-old man died victim of the flu A H1N1 (pig flu) in Saint Jos? of the Rio Petro, in Sao Paulo, in this Tuesday (16). The patient was interned in the Unity of Intensive Treatment (ICU) of the Saint Each of Compassion from the day 8, but it did not hold. This is the first case of death registered in the city in 2013 and, in accordance with informations of the Municipal General office of the Health, there are no other confirmed cases of admission for the virus influenza A H1N1. The first case of death by the disease in the region of the northwest of Sao Paulo was confirmed in the last Friday, 12, in Catanduva.

In agreement with informations of the General office of Health of Catanduva, a 52-year-old patient, it looked for medical service in the 1st day, was attended and released. After not to register improvement of the symptoms in the day 5 the woman was interned in the ICU of the Hospital Priest Albino. The death happened in the day 8, but the examination that presented positive result for the virus H1N1 was registered in this Friday. The patient ill chronic era, factor that was placing it in the group of risk of the disease. According to informations of the General office of the Health of the State of Sao Paulo, the deaths are provoked by a complication of the symptoms, like a respiratory sharp syndrome, and not only by the virus of the flu.

Third case of death by flu H1N1 is confirmed in Sao Paulo

Besides immunizing the population against the influenza A, a campaign also will be going to protect the population against another two types of flu: the influenza A (H3N2) and influenza B.
