According to the report of cases by state of Infectious Diseases of the Respiratory System to epidemiological week 18, ranging from 2 to May 8, 2010, the National Center of Epidemiological Surveillance and Disease Control (CENAVECE) located in Tabasco First Case of Influenza A H1N1 in Southeast Mexico with 114 cases.
Likewise, the body under the Ministry of Health mentioned that ranks second with 57 cases Chiapas, Campeche and Quintana Roo and Yucatan 30 cases respectively with only 18 cases.
For its part the State Health Secretariat said that to maintain control of the disease in the body, the Federation sent to Tabasco 211 000 50 doses of vaccines against influenza A H1N1, which were administered according to guidelines issued nationally to protect mainly high-risk groups such as children from six to 23 months, children aged 24 to 35 months, health workers, day care workers, pregnant women and patients with chronic diseases vaccination achieving one hundred 100 percent, since it is able to protect more than 213 000 people.
But the question is what is causing it to continue to present cases even with vaccination campaigns and the strengthening of epidemiological surveillance, the agency said it was because even in some segments of the population has dropped their guard and not adopting preventive measures like washing hands constantly, using hand sanitizer, avoid sneezing or coughing directly in front of others without covering her mouth.
However a few days ago the Health Secretary Jose Angel Cordova Villalobos, announced that the World Health Organization (WHO) agreed that Mexico raise the alert for the H1N1 influenza A "when the country sees fit "and therefore are awaiting completion of vaccination which is 95 percent, thus raising the alert.
