Kuningan, West Java ::: Bird flu in backyard chickens

Kuningan ? Backyard chickens in Desa Kedungarum Kecamatan Kuningan and Desa Cigarukgak Kecamatan Cawigebang have suddenly died and tested positive bird flu H5N1.
According to the head of Livestock and Fishery Service of Kabupaten Kuningan, Triastami, 56 dead chickens reported in Desa Kedungarum and 15 in Desa Cigarukgak, all confirmed bird flu positive by rapid test.
Following to the incident, Livestock Service has collected cloaca swab to be examined on an animal disease investigation laboratory in Cikole Badung. Control was done by disinfection of affected area.
