Sedyaningsih, who started her career in 1979 as a clinician at Jakarta Pertamina Hospital, was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2010, a year after she was appointed health minister, according to the ministry’s website. She had undergone treatment in Indonesia and Guangzhou, China.
