But, then the animals started falling down dead one after another. These beneficiaries say that the animals start sneeze, froth and then die. Thirty two are dead and 60 more are showing the same signs.

According to A Arumugam, union secretary of the Tamil Nadu Farmers Association, most of the goats given to the beneficiaries are not fit to be reared in this region. "Almost all the goats were about six months old and not mature,"' he said.
