Measles claims six children in J&K

JAMMU:
Six children have died of measles in several remote villages in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir, a senior health official said.
"We have sent teams of doctors headed by Block Medical Officer to Afti and Mangli villages in Warwan areas-located in far-flung and remote corners of Kishtwar district for treatment of measles-affected children," Director Health Service Jasbir Singh said.
A team of doctors have been rushed in the affected area, he added.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Raiz Ahmed Zargar confirmed that six children died due to "some mysterious disease" in Mangli and Afti remote hamlets of Warwan belt of Kishtwar.
However, the ADC denied negligence on the part of the authorities and health officials.
