Mysterious disease breaks out in Khadinyar village

Baramulla: Panic has gripped Khadinyar village of Baramulla district after outbreak of some mysterious viral disease which people say has affected scores of people including several families in last couple of day.

However, medical authorities ruled out any case of swine flu in the area but confirmed outbreak of viral infection causing symptoms like fever, headache, running nose and respiratory track infections.

Locals of Khadinyar, the hamlet which is five kilometers away from Baramulla town, said that mysterious disease broke out in the village which has affected dozens of people...

The locals of the area added that first the infection affected few people later it spread to other families causing panic in the entire village.

Deputy Director Health Services, who is also in-charge Chief Medical Officer Baramulla, Dr. Abdul Karim while talking to ?Kashmir Images? said that there was sudden rise in the viral infection reported from the area and a team of doctors has been deputed to the village to examine the patients.

?We have treated around 25 patients so far...

Health authorities have cautioned people of the affected areas to take precautionary measures and consume safe water.
