The disease has spread since August 8 in Triveni village of Tehsil Sadar. An 11-year-old child first died due to this disease. According to the relatives of the deceased, he had cold, cold and fever. After this, there was swelling in his throat, which was being treated in a private hospital, which later died. Even after the death of this child, many children were ill. The health department was informed about this, but then the department did not show any activity. Due to this the disease spread more rapidly. Gradually, till Tuesday, four children died.
On Wednesday, Chief Medical Officer Dr Anil Kumar Srivastava and Deputy CMO Sanjay Agarwal reached the spot and took stock of the entire village and instructed to intensify the vaccination campaign. Meanwhile, all the children are being vaccinated by setting up camps in the village and the children who are showing symptoms of the disease. Their samples are also being taken.

In this regard, Deputy CMO Dr. Sanjay Aggarwal said that the information about the spread of the disease in this village was received on August 8, due to which the health team was directed to get the vaccination done in the village. He said that the samples taken after the death of the first child showed signs of diphtheria disease. All the children have died due to this disease. Two children have been sent to Kanpur for treatment, samples of other infected children are being taken, the age of the children who have died is being told between 3 to 11 years. He told about this disease Diphtheria is caused by infection of Corynebacterium bacteria. In this disease, the bacteria first damage the throat.
