Hong Kong: ILI and HFMD situation update (9/24/10)

[Source: Centre for Health Protection, Hong Kong PRC SAR, View Original Article.]

The Centre for Health Protection (CHP) of the Department of Health received reports of influenza-like illness (ILI) outbreaks in five schools affecting 29 persons during the two days ending at noon today (September 24).

Reports about hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) outbreaks involving 10 persons in five schools were received during the same period.

The above brought to 43 and 55 the cumulative totals of ILI and HFMD outbreak reports respectively since the start of the new school term in September.

Schools should refer to the guidelines on prevention of communicable diseases for practical information on measures to prevent common communicable diseases.

More information is available on the CHP website at www.chp.gov.hk.
