Before Martin, this strain killed nine people on this same floor. Doctors knew the very young and very old were at risk, but what happened to the ones in between?...

Comment - Jason Martin got sick last September at Vanderbilt Hospital. The article mentions nine other deaths that occurred on the same floor before Martin. I can't tell if these deaths occurred in the spring or if there was a wave of illness in late summer. TN hasn't reported any influenza deaths this season.
