The first case of avian influenza H1N1 occurred this year in Cuiaba was confirmed in this monday, 24, by the Municipal Health Department (SMS). This is the 13TH record of the disease this year alone in Mato Grosso. The victim is a 54 year-old woman, whose identity is being kept secret. The patient is admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a private hospital Cuiabá?. There are several days in the hospital, she remains in serious condition.
Another woman, little more than 30 years ago, would have died of the disease in the last friday, 22, in another private hospital choosing the Single Healthcare System(SUS). This occurrence, however, had not come to the knowledge of health agencies until the beginning of the Monday night. In late afternoon the State Secretariat of Health(SES) informed that this year, without counting the patient cuiabana, already had 12 records of H1N1 in the State do not have, at that moment, the list of municipalities with notification of the disease. The coordinator of Surveillance of Diseases and Conditions of the Department of Health of Cuiaba, Flavia Guimaraes, said that six people are hospitalized with Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) in different hospital units of capital mato-grossense, which may or may not be H1N1 and other types of influenza. Flavia not ruled out the possibility of death among the cases that are being monitored, but noted that there was a notification has not yet been formalised.
