Flu Prevention Forums To Be Held In South Burlington

BURLINGTON, Vt. -- The Vermont Department Of Public Health will discuss H1N1 flu -- otherwise known as swine flu -- preparations in advance of the virus' arrival at a news conference Tuesday.
The news conference starts at 1:30 p.m. and will be carried live right here on WPTZ.com.

The press conference comes in advance of the Department of Health's first of four flu prevention forums Tuesday evening in Burlington.
Tuesday's forum is set for 7 p.m. at the Hilton Hotel.
Other forums will be held Sept. 29 at the Rutland Holiday Inn, Sept. 30 at Springfield High School and Oct. 1 at Lyndon Institute.
The forums are being co-sponsored by Vermont Emergency Management.
The forums will feature state officials and public health experts discussing the state's preparations and the actions that people and communities can take to cope with the regular seasonal flu as well as the H1N1 flu.
Health Commissioner Dr. Wendy Davis said this flu season will be complex, and that it's more important than ever to take precautions.
