Bolivar three cases of H1N1 virus so far this year

Three cases of the H1N1 virus have been in Bolivar State so far of the year, one of those affected died. The head of the Institute of public health of the entity, Jos? Garc?a, said that epidemiological surrounding stays activated.

H1N1 victim's relatives denounced irregularities in the handling of cases

Medical report, said Oliver Guzm?n, nephew of Alfredo Garc?a, only indicated that it was suspected that the cause of death was flu; and why no doctor, or the hospital authority has signed the report so that the body can be removed from the morgue.

10 People have died from H1N1 in Bolivar

Six of the deaths have occurred in the Caron? municipality.



Jos? Garc?a, President of the Institute of public health (ISP) in Bolivar State, reported that so far people have died by the H1N1 virus in the State 10. Two of them in Heres, six in Caroni, and one in Sifontes and Gran Sabana, respectively.

Until now there are 232 suspected cases, only 45 of them are positive. Garcia recalled that it is important for the population to take preventive measures as wash your hands constantly, not to attend school, work or universities when they have flu, cover your nose when you sneeze and in case of risk also get vaccinated.

10 dead, 232 patients suspected and 45 confirmed in Bolivar State are the latest data provided by the ISP.



According to the epidemiological Bulletin the week of 16 to 22 July the Ministry of Popular power for health (MPPS), have been reported 2279 cases of influenza a/H1N1 in the country.

The States with the largest number of confirmed patients are M?rida with 930; Capital District with 287; Zulia with 266; 264 Tachira and Lara with 222.

In Bolivar State, the latest report offered by the President of the Institute of public health (ISP), Jos? Garc?a indicated that there had been 10 deaths by influenza, 232 suspected cases and confirmed 45. The information dates back to June 30.

Mail of the Caroni tried to establish contact with Garcia in order to update the figures, but it was not possible, because the contact numbers were not available.

Authorities insist that the situation is under control, reiterated the call to remain calm and to take preventive measures to avoid the spread of the virus: wash your hands, cover your mouth when coughing or sneezing, do not go to public places when you have flu, if it is considered a population at risk (pregnant women, children younger than 9 years(, adults 65 years and older, sick chronic) be vaccinated.
