The above study concluded that the viral dose is higher in the saliva than the faeces.

Re: H5N1-virus in front in birds' saliva

Considering that some breeders suck the mucus out of the fighting cocks nostrils, and the proximity of their nostrils to their beaks, just how much loaded saliva do they get into their mouths? Do we know how many of the victims raised roosters or tried to cure their backyard chickens, compared to others who just 'handled'/'buried' them?

Re: H5N1-virus in front in birds' saliva

A while ago the Chinese said that the virus was changing to aerosol borne in poultry

The H5N1 viruses isolated during the 2004-2006 period have increased their ability to replicate in mammalian cell culture. The transmission mode of the viruses is changing from fecal-oral to aerosol, said the scientist, adding that the viruses have increased resistance to the environment, especially to temperature.
