A sample was taken from this patient and sent to the Conakry virology center for examination. This sample was tested positive for yellow fever virus. A second test was carried out and also proved positive on the sample sent to the Virology Laboratory of the Pasteur Institute in Dakar/Senegal, thus confirming this case of yellow fever.

Faced with this situation, the Ministry of Health, in collaboration with its partners, has taken urgent measures:

o Rapid investigation, sampling for additional analyzes from 41 contacts identified in the locality. These identified contacts are regularly followed up and none of them has developed symptoms of this disease to date;

o The organization of ring response vaccination for the protection of the local population o The strengthening of surveillance at the level of all health services and in the community.

The Ministry of Health and Public Hygiene has invited the population to be vigilant by reporting any suspected case of fever, jaundice to the health services but also to observe the rigorous application of preventive measures such as the use of mosquito nets. and habitat sanitation.

Under the leadership of the Government, the Department of Health reassures that all additional measures are taken to ensure optimal protection of the population against yellow fever.
