Public Health -- Seattle & King County reported the death, which occurred July 18, on Thursday. To protect her and her family's privacy, she was listed only as a child, which means her age can range from a newborn to 12 years old.

She died at a hospital. Her family asked that her hometown not be released.

The first death from the swine flu in the county occurred on Jun 11. A person in his or her 70s died.
