Georgia recently updated surveillance to include weeks 44 and 45. Both are showing increases in ILI, yet below baseline. Daily graph of ILI shows steady increases since the beginning of November.
ILI: 1.96% (similar to last year at this time); an increase of 0.54% since last week. Regional baseline 2.3%; Georgia baseline ~2.8%.

During week 52 influenza activity increased in Georgia with widespread occurrences of sustained flu transmission.
ILI: 5.23%, which is above the Georgia baseline of 2.8%.

Reported Influenza Outbreaks: There were 0 influenza-related outbreaks reported to public health during week 52 .
RSV Viral Surveillance: Of the 473 specimens tested and reported by the Georgia Public Health Laboratory (GPHL) and the National Respiratory and Enteric Virus Surveillance System (NREVSS) collaborating laboratories during week 52, 131 were positive and the average percent positive of ALL laboratory confirmed tests was 23.9%,above the season onset threshold of 10.0%. http://health.state.ga.us/epi/flu/fluupd11.asp
