ATLANTA -- Mumps cases are on the rise in Metro Atlanta, with three outbreaks reported this year.

Doctors recently diagnosed a student from Grady High School with the infection. Atlanta Public Schools notified the school's student body and faculty about the case.

Several students at Emory got the virus too in an isolated outbreak...

...Health officials said in 2016, there were 17 cases of mumps in Georgia. However, in 2017, there were 121 cases. The year isn't even over yet and there have been 125 cases reported so far. That's a 635% increase from 2016 to now.
